SOCODEVI – COOP Ukraine: communication priorities are determined

On February 16, in Kyiv, at the office of COOP Ukraine, Illia Gorokhovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Ukrkoopspilka, met with leaders of Canadian cooperatives: Erin Mackie, SOCODEVI Program Manager, and Paul Cabaj, Canadian cooperative leader, member of the Board of the ICA America and SOCODEVI Advisor.

During the meeting with representatives of the non-governmental organization SOCODEVI, Illia Gorokhovskyi presented the system of consumer cooperation of COOP Ukraine and its potential, and spoke about the functioning of consumer cooperation during the war. The participants of the meeting determined priorities for further communication to help develop the cooperative sector of Ukraine’s economy and synergize all types of cooperatives.

SOCODEVI is a non-governmental organization funded by the Government of Canada. It operates around the world. In 2022-2023, the organization worked on 30 projects in 17 countries and helped more than 800,000 people improve their socioeconomic situation and supported more than 300 organizations. SOCODEVI also supports cooperatives, helping them consolidate as catalysts for inclusive, sustainable socio-economic development. This non-governmental organization also has its own programs in Ukraine. In particular, representatives of this non-governmental organization share marketing and management knowledge with Ukrainian entrepreneurs, and implement a program to support rural women’s entrepreneurship as part of the Entrepreneurship Development Project for the War-Affected Rural Population in Ukraine.
