The IV Congress of the Ukrainian Central Union of Consumer Societies was held

On April 25, the IV Congress of the Ukrainian Central Union of Consumer Societies was held in Kyiv. It was attended by 115 delegates delegated by the congresses of the regional unions of consumer societies – members of Ukrkoopspilka. The congress was held under strict wartime security conditions.

The IV Congress of the Ukrainian Central Union of Consumer Societies was opened by Illia Gorokhovskiy, Chairman of the Board. The Congress was chaired by Marta Kandyba, Chairman of the Board of the Volyn Union of Consumer Societies, and Vasyl Andriychuk, General Director of Co-op Media LLC, was elected Secretary.

The delegates were greeted by the leaders of the international cooperative movement: Ariel Guarco, President of the International Cooperative Alliance, and Mathias Fiedler, President of EURO COOP.

Illia Gorokhovskiy, Chairman of the Board of Ukrkoopspilka, made a presentation “On the work of the Council and the Board of the Ukrainian Central Union of Consumer Societies (Ukrkoopspilka) in 2019-2023 and the tasks of ensuring economic stability under martial law, further sustainable development, and effective integration into the European and world economic space of cooperative organizations of the Ukrkoopspilka system”. The report summarizes the results of consumer cooperation activities during one of the most difficult periods of its existence – first a pandemic, then a full-scale war. The congress also discussed the report, considered other important issues on the agenda, and re-elected the management and control bodies – the Council and the Audit Commission of the Ukrainian Central Union of Consumer Societies (Ukrkoopspilka) of the fourth convocation.

After the congress, the first meeting of the Council of the fourth convocation was held. In accordance with the Charter, the Presidency of the Ukrainian Central Union of Consumer Societies (Ukrkoopspilka) was elected, and Illia Gorokhovskiy was unanimously elected Chairman of the Council of Ukrkoopspilka.
